In a recent interview Christine McVie was asked if she thought the band would ever take to the road again.
She said, “That’s an impossible question to even answer. If we do, it will be without John and without Stevie. I think I’m getting a bit too old for it now, especially having had a year off. I don’t know if I can get myself back into it again.”
The 77 year old singer explained that bandmate Stevie Nicks has confirmed that she no longer wants to perform live and that bassist John McVie is still recovering from cancer treatment.
“I know Mick would do it in a lightning strike. But I couldn’t possibly say. We’re certainly not touring this year either. I look at these next six or so years as my last youthful years, when I’m going to feel like putting on six-inch heels and dancing across a stage for the world, because, really, at some point you have to go, OK, you’ll be 80 – just exactly how long can you cartwheel across the world? I don’t have that much time left to be a rock star.”
They are without doubt one of the biggest bands on the planet having sold over 100 million records and even if their days of live performing may be coming to a close they are still playing their biggest songs all day, every day on
