On October 5th, 1962 the Beatles released their first single Love Me Do and, in the words of their producer George Martin, proceeded to change the world.
The recording, made a month earlier, was by no means straightforward. The band’s original drummer Pete Best played on the first recording session, Ringo Starr on the second and session drummer Andy White on the third.
None of that really mattered when the record hit the charts announcing Liverpool group’s arrival. Even though it only made number 17 in the UK the stage was set and what followed had to be seen, and heard, to be believed.
Beatlemania swept all before it and pop music was to never be the same again!
