Big, radio-friendly anthems have been Snow Patrol’s stock-in-trade ever since the Northern Irish band broke through with the huge hit single Run in 2003.
The follow-up single Chasing Cars was even bigger and led to the album Eyes Open achieving the status of the UK’s best selling record of 2006.
So it’s no surprise that the band’s first album for six years, The Forest Is The Path, has a familiar ring to it.
Whilst Jonny Quinn and Paul Wilson have left the band, frontman Gary Lightbody remains. With help in the song writing from Nathan Connolly and Johnny McDaid there are plenty of slow-burning epics on offer
There’s even room on the title track for backing vocals from Hollywood star Courtney Cox (McDaid’s partner) and actress Sarah Greene (Connolly’s fiancée).
Snow Patrol will be touring in 2025, but in the meantime you can check out the new album with a track from The Forest Is The Path playing every hour on our dedicated station.
