Burt Bacharch, the King of Easy Listening and one of the greatest ever songwriters, has died at the age of 94.

During the sixties and seventies he collaborated on TV with many of the biggest stars of the day including Andy Williams and Barbra Streisand, and then in later years he worked with artists as diverse as Neil Diamond, Elvis Costello, Jamie Cullum, Sheryl Crow and Dr. Dre.
As well as writing a multitude of hits, many with his lyricist partner Hal David, Burt was an Oscar and Grammy winner. However, much more than that he was the man who tugged at millions heartstrings and created the soundtrack to millions of lives.
