EXCLUSIVE RADIO UNVEILS PULP

Jul 9, 2022

English Indie band Pulp now have their own dedicated station on Exclusive Radio.

Formed in Sheffield, England in 1978 by Jarvis Cocker, theirs was a long road to success. A less determined outfit might have given up after the 1980s seemed to be nothing but a struggle; however the album His ‘n’ Hers in 1994 paved the way for the follow-up Different Class a year later. The latter album reached number one and spawned four top ten hits, two of which, Common People and Sorted for E’s & Wizz, both reached number two on the UK singles charts.

With this success Pulp became reluctant figureheads for the Britpop movement, along with Oasis and Blur. They won a Mercury Music Prize for Different Class in ’96 and headlined the Glastonbury Festival twice.

There was a break-up of the band in 2002 and a reunion in 2011, but they finally disbanded in 2013.

Pulp’s musical legacy is assured and you can hear all of their hits, and much more, on our newest station.
