The UK has never been a hotbed of country music, despite having a solid core of devotees, but something curious seems to be happening with 11.5 million sales of country singles in the year to date. That’s a 67% increase in the same period in 2023.
The upsurge may well be down to huge artists not normally associated with the genre diverting their musical course, led Beyoncé.
